Need some help

so at what point are u able to actually contact WD? i bought a My Book 2 1/2 years ago, had almost 1000 movies on it and one day about a year ago, it just stoppe working. registers on the computer, but will not do  **bleep** thing. $179? **bleep**? so i took it out of the enclosure, made it the only hd in one of my computers. registers in the system setup, but will not format or accept any programming. no this drive was never dropped, nor abused in any way. so **bleep**? i am out the $179 plus tax and my 1000 movies? so i decide to actually contact WD via email and i keep get rerouted in a circle? **bleep**?
