Need recommendation on external storage device

could someone recommend an external storage device that i can use with both my laptop and wdtv live hd?

I can tell you that I use:

My Passport Essential SE 1 TB External hard drive

and it works fine with WD TV Live and with my pc to fill it up. The main advantage of this external unit is that it needs no power connection, just the USB connection…  Al

thanks i have been looking at that unit to.

I use the Elements; it works great on both.   I use the WD in the Minivan with the Elements to bring the kids’ DVD collection on road trips.
