After downloading/transferring my data from MyPassport to my PC I can see all my folders and files, but cannot open them. Message is: “get permission from your administrator.” Who’s that?
You didn’t mention the OS. Try doing a search for how th change Sharing Permissions and also Take Ownership and see if that is the problem.

I agree with Joe_S. It sounds like you need to take “ownership” of the files/folders. Sometimes this can happen when files are transferred from one location to another. Depending on your OS, you should be able to find some information on how to take ownership of a file/folder.
