Got a problem with the Smartware. My drive is about 1/3 full with backed up files. Whenever my computer gets shut down, my WD drive gets locked at reboot, but I can’t start the Smartware. I get a Microsoft notice stating that the software has encountered a problem and needs to close. I’ve tried rebooting and starting the program in a couple different ways. I say it’s strange in that it may not work for a time, but all of a sudden, it does and I can unlock the drive and it works again? What can I do??
Can you unlock the drive everytime you reboot or reconnect the drive to your pc? Have you disabled the VCD? Also, you might want to check that you have the latest updates for the drive and SmartWare.
