I seem to be making really good progress on my own, but I have never dealt with linux and samba servers so I am unwilling to do any editing of things until I can get clarification. If anyone is good with editing linux/samba config files, looking at the files, or just any help/incite it would be very much appreciated.

Warning the post is ridiculously long.
Not even sure if its possible but couldn’t the media player just take the root of both shares and organize them as if they were one? The only thing I could think of that would be an issue is if there are same name folders and files, but even that should be able to be overcome
