I Just bought a WR 1043 TP LINK router with NAS feature on that.
WD live cannot recognize the drive as a Media Server or a Network Share…
Is it possible to do, or I am tryingto do something impossible?
thanks a lot

Hi there.
The router you have is not listed on the compatible devices list on the WD website, I would recommend to see it click here
Hi, that helped to clarify some stuff, but just to be sure, you mean that only that routers with NAS works properly with WDTV live right? I had the same problem with the USB wifi adapter, and so far as I understood the problem with teh router is almost the same… right?

It may work as Network Share. I cannot find any reference to it running a media server.
Some simple questions-
Have you shared the attached disk?
Have you started the Sharing Service?
Can you see the shared disk drive from a PC (Windows preferrably)?
Hi
Actually you can try using any router, but WD guarantee their media players work with the devices they’ve tested.-
That was what I were wondering…but no success
Some simple questions-
Have you shared the attached disk? YES
Have you started the Sharing Service? YES
Can you see the shared disk drive from a PC (Windows preferrably)? YES…
prety sad not reaching a solution thanks for yours help
All may not be lost yet. If your PC is running Windows then open a command window and execute the following commands and paste the results-
net view -you should see your router name in the list, note this name
nbtstat -n -you may see …__MSBROWSE__… in the list which is mostly good
nbtstat -a - from step 1 without <>
