NAS Problems with MP3 Playback from PC / Mac

Hi,

I use the WD Live TV on a wired network.  I’ve got a lot of music stored on there now, however when I browse to the WDLiveTV from my Windows 7 PC or MacBook and play back any mp3 files, they stutter all the time when playing them back. Every 30 seconds or so it messes up.

I’ve tried different mp3 playback software, there are no problems with the MP3s if i copy them locally to my PC and play them they are totally fine. I’ve got a new netgear 100/mbit switch, the macbook and win7 pc are on wired connection still stutters. I’ve tried new  CAT5 cables etc, but no luck.

is it just another bug with the endlessly buggy WDLiveTV?

Any advice is apprecaited.

Pls delete this thread now.

Problem was caused by VLC media player which I thought was a piece of software I could believe in. Wrong. 

Cog plays back from the NAS totally fine. 

I tunes is a piece of junk, it insists on copying the tracks … no time for Itunes, horrible software.
