I just bought a nas mycloudex2 ultra.
However, when I click on “add content”,

You seem to add data to your my cloud device from the dashboard . Which is not the right method to transfer data on your device.
Either you can access My cloud.com and upload your data from there or you can map the shares on your computer and upload data to the device manually. Also, you can use WD Smartware software or Windows files history backup feature to transfer your data to the my cloud device

I’m using Ubuntu.
What I did is :
-going to http://mycloudex2ultra.local/ using a web browser
-I created a new folder below “Set Up Shares”
-then I browse my network from my computer(Ubuntu) to the new folder I just created in my nas and copy manually the files to this new folder.
Is it the right way to add stuff ?

Yes, you would need to manually transfer the data to the share that you can see in the Network option of your Ubuntu system.
