N900 Data backup but FAST

My n900 seems to die soon, Wi-Fi works very unstable.
I want to backup my data. I tried the following:

  1. External case, convert exfat to ntfs using a tool, tool worked for 20 hours, then crashed, nothing converted but no data is lost (I ask myself what this tool did the 20 hours …).
  2. Connect Ethernet directly n900<>pc; backup works , but with 3.5 mb/sec. That is … too slow.

How can I accomplish this faster/fastest?
