N700 2.4 GHz constantly dropping

I’ve had the N700 for several days now.  The 5 Ghz band seems to work fine, but 2.4 constantly drops the connection.  The computer will work fine (at 5 bars) for 5-10 minutes.  Then suddenly the connection drops and the computer shows no network in range.  Running “Diagnose and Repair” will restore the connection after identifying an undefined “Problem with the network access point”.  (There is no NAP other than the router.)

It does this VERY consistently, every 5-10 minutes.  It does this with every laptop I’ve tried with the 2.4 GHz band.  (All WIn7 machines.)  None of them have a problem on the 5 GHz band.  And I’ve also been able to try this in two completely different locations (different cities) with the same problem.

Think I may have found the solution…

The factory default is set to auto channel select.  Manually choosing a specific channel seems to have fixed the problem.
