MyCloudMirror Gen 2 Change User Access Question

I have a share for my music where admin is the only user, and I had User Access set to Read Only. This was done because I thought a music app had written to my music files, which I didn’t want. I have found a setting in the app to prevent it from writing to my files. When I changed the User Access back to Read/Write, I had to reboot the MyCloudMirror in order for the change to take effect. I checked the User Manual and didn’t see anything about rebooting if User Access was changed. Is this normal procedure?
