Mycloud permanent yellow

Hi together,

I use a WD Mycloud Gen.1 with 2TB almost 10 years.
Unfortunately it’s not possible to access the drive anymore.

The status LED is just yellow permanently.

I saw some tutorials and threads how to mount the drive to a Linux system after unbox it from the case.

But this doesn’t work for me. Trying to connect via USB-Adapter to my PC, it gets connected to Windows and Linux both.
In Windows it shows as “not initialized” and wants to get initialized to mount. But all files will get lost if I do so.
In Linux the drive is shown as well, but if i want to open or mount, the error “can’t read superblock” appears.
The drive is not shown in testdisk as well.

Anyone with an idea how to rescue and restore all the images and videos of my kids growing up?

Thanks in advance!

Are you able to connect it to your Router and set it up for use on your home network? Thats how I have mine set up.

No chance. It was directly wired to the router in different ports with different cables.
