I looked around and couldn’t find any confirmation that the MyCloud EX2 works with 2x8TB (maximum on WD’s site is 2x6TB) but after purchasing two new 8TB RED drives, I thought I’d try it out and if it didn’t work, I’d just purchase the EX2 Ultra diskless enclosure.
Good news, the non-ultra model works with 16TB !

It’s good that My Cloud EX2 model works with 16TB yet it’s available with maximum 2x6TB storage disks.
Creat news! Anybody know if the EX@ will work with 2x10TB drives?
Answering my own question… Possibly:
Well, the drives arrived today. I installed them in my MyCloud EX2 (non-Ultra) and got red lights on both drive LEDs. Not sure if that’s normal, because the drives were fresh, unpartitioned and unformatted(?) Anyway I went ahead and set them up as a RAID 1 array and the drives were partitioned and formated and… Two blue lights! The array is showing up as 10 TB. I’ll play some more with the system over the next few days but my initial thought is, yes, the MyCloud EX2 can handle 2x10TB drive…
