Mycloud dashboard

Hi

When i originally installed Mycloud the dashboard appeared with no probs.  For one reason or another i had to uninstall and reinstall, and whilst MyCloud now works fine in terms of streaming, i cant get access to the dashboard.

I’ve tried IE, Chrome and Firefox.  And all with both http://wdmycloud and http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx but with no luck.  I’ve read through various threads but I pretty quickly get lost in technical terms (being a non-tech!).

For what its worth, i can see my various ‘shares’ if i go in through wd2go.com.  Additionally, i can see them in twonky although not entirely sure what twonky is all about).

Any help would save me pulling out what remaining hair i have!

Have you tried reinstalling the drive again using the setup software.

Have you tried installing quickview.

Can you see the mycloud in your network.

Twonky is the media server on the mycloud.

hi had the same problem, installed wd quickview, was able to access dashboard from it, good luck

I’ve tried all of these, but nothing seems to work.  when i try to get into the dashboard I get the following:

Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /UI on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

My concern is how secure everything is, as my uderstnading was that i should be setting the various security levels through the dash board?

It sounds like you’re trying to access it from a network other than the one on which the Cloud is installed?

The dashboard is not accessible from anywhere other than your home network.

This same problem has begun with my drive.  When I installed the drive, the dashboard would not work and I was told by a tech to simply use the web interface instead.  Two days ago I started getting the forbidden access notice.  I am on my home network and can access the drive with the My cloud app and through the finder.  

Any suggestions?
