MyBookLiveDuo Win10 reconnection problem

The MyBookLiveDuo (MBLD) on my home network will connect on my Windows 10 laptop when the MBLD starts up. But after 24 hours the Windows laptop can no longer connect to it until the MBLD is restarted. When this connection problem occurs with Windows, I can confirm the MBLD is indeed running because I can connect with my MacBookPro.

The sleep is turned off on the MyBookLiveDuo so this should not be the problem. Seems like a Win 10 problem but I have no idea how to solve this. I’ve turned all of the Network Discovery choices on and have restarted my laptop. The MBLD has the latest firmware.

This has been going on for years and the MyBookLiveDuo is just about to be put out of service for something that works consistently.

Any ideas?

Hi tschmid,

The “Network Browse” function has been disabled on Windows 10 v1709 and higher. It is recommended to enable SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support in Windows 10 then reconnect My Book Live Duo in this concern. You can have a look on below article for more details:
