I have a Windows 8 PC and under My PC / My Computer there are three groups:
Folders, Devices and Drives, and Network.
When I first got my 4TB MyBookLive Duo it appeared both under Network as well as Devices and Drives, where the latter had a drive letter assigned to it (L:). Oddly, I was downloading some files onto that particular drive (the destination was the one on the local “devices and drives” or (L:) ) and half way through I got an writing error. When i tried to find that drive, it wasn’t showing under My Computer.
The devices works fine via the network, but I was wondering if it is possible to get back the device be recognized as a local USB mounted drive.
I had close to half a TB (or more) of stuff on that L drive (but it wasn’t added to the network), but when I check the MyBookLive Duo webpage (it’s IP addy), it tells me I have about 100 GB of stuff on there which fits the picture of what I added to be on the network.
Hopefully this doesn’t sound confusing …
UPDATE: redid the product setup and instantly the following error appeared under device manager (which is what I’m guessing is where things went wrong_
