MyBook World Book Edition I - Lost Access

Yesterday, I lost access to my World Book Edition I. The status lights show everything is okay; however, it is non-responsive when trying to map the network drive. The unit provides a PING response. I am using Windows 10 workstations to access it and using both IP address or a mapped domain name it does not response. I used the network troubleshooter from Win10 and it says that the unit is refusing access. Once it tries, I can go onto the IP address using a web browser, but the WD system doesn’t provide any response - just a direct showing HELP, MIONET, EULA and ADMIN. Looking at these, I can find nothing to trigger the Admin Software.

When I try to go into EULA or HELP - it tells me that I need a password, but won’t let me sign in.

I can’t get to the \Public folder where all my data is.

I tried the reset button, but it did not cause the unit to reboot.

If I have to, I’m willing to take the drive apart, remove the hard drive and directly connect it to a Windows workstation.

In the end, I just want to get all the data off this thing.
