MyBook Mirror Edition

I have a WD external HD, MyBook Mirror edition - configured with RAID 1. Recently, it suddenly is not connecting to my PC. I’ve replaced the USB cable, power cord and followed a lot of troubleshooting steps stated in the manual. No solution.

The WD device manager application shows the status as “RAID1 - bad”.

Is there any way to recover the data at all from this external HD?

“Bad” status of RAID indicates an issue with the RAID configuration and needs to check the status of Disc Status. You may refer the Disk Status Messages from My Book Mirror Edition User Manaual (Page #17).

However, you may try to use alternate data recovery tools to recover important data from the drive, else contact Data Recovery companies.
