Install at least WD SmartWare and try . . .

I did.

The Latest Firmware and the latest softwares but it did not work.

it works using the cable  from the same laptop. but not on the wireless while both the cable and wireless are working fine from XP.

Hi

I have the same problem!! All my conections are OK but when I run the disc to set the mybook live on my hp pavilion Laptop running widows 7 all I get is please check conections and try again screen. My MyBook is conected to the internet as I can see it on MY BOOK live site but not on my computer. Cant discover means cant back up What do I need to do to rectify this problem?

Thanks Malcolm

I had the same problem; checked in with the m$ win7 forum & found no help there as many people have the same problem with various network drives.  Some m$ “support” say reformat & reinstall win7!!

m$ support stopped answering questions since they didn’t know what to do & won’t admit a windows problem with wireless connections to any nas.

Somehow I was able to connect with my laptop by being obstinate; I would get the infamous “path to drive not found” but I think I still reenter the info 3 or 4 times & then it took with the 129 ver.  However, there was a prompt for login so created a user & password from my desktop.  Then I had to enter a user & password each time for the mapped connection to MBL.  Bear in mind that the whole procedure didn’t work when under the 124 or earlier ver firmware.

Decided not to bother about the MBL on the laptop after receiving my RMA’ed drive.  The interesting thing is that the windows media player/center see the MBL fine; but won’t send any of my flac audio files to be played under another player; I was able to view some manuals in pdf format that I placed in the MBL.

What your description of the problem, I am inclined to think it’s one of two things.  Either the Windows 7 firewall is not correctly configured or it is some setting withi the router.

Actually, a third…  Make sure the MTU value on the Windows 7 and router is set to the standard value of 1500.

Worth checking.
