Just wondering what’s going on…

Quite often my MyBook Live is whirring like there’s no tomorrow even though it’s not in use and hasn’t been for hours. I’d say about every other morning when I wake up that little box is already awake doing a lot of something.

Energy saver setting is on. Automatic update is set to once a week at midnight. This thing should be mostly asleep but no… What is it doing??

keep in mind that this unit is a network drive so if the computer is on or someone is accesing to your network the unit will be awake. So check to see if someone is accesing to your network or the drive it self.

Turn off remote access and see what happens.  This is currently the culprit for drive not sleeping since the firmware update.
