The LED on my new MyBook Essential 3TB drive does not light up at all. I can see a white light through the back of the drive, through the slits, but the little round thingy on the front does not light up. Is there a way to fix this myself, because I am loathe to return the drive just to fix the led. I bought it online and I would have to mail it back…

Firmware is updated to the latest version. It seems to be a minor hardware issue, like a small plastic piece out of alignement or something. Is the enclosure openable without voiding the warranty?
As far as I know, it voids the warranty…
