Hello

I changed the hard drive in a MyBook & a Elements, both come with errors when I try to create partitions and format the drive, the hard drive works perfectly in other cabinets, and if I put it directly into the PC.

Hi,

Are you trying to exchange the drives inside of a My Book and the Elements? If yes, it might not be possible since the drives are designed to work with the enclosure that came with it.

Yes I’m trying to replace hard drives in a My Book and Elements, does that mean that when the hard drive fails in My Book or Elements, so you may as well throw it in the trash? If this is the case, then I have bought my last WD hard drive … I’ve never had the same problem with other brands …
