MyBook Duo shuts down and restart constantly while writing

I have this 12 TB MyBook Duo since 2017. 2 or 3 days ago started to shut down for no reason while Acronis True Image was writing a backup, which I’ve been using for a year. After 3-4 minutes, it comes back “ON” again. While it is down, I have tried to unplug and plug the power connector to see if I can bring it to life again, the three lights turn red for a second or so and then die again. When it’s on and running seems to have all my files ok.
I’m running a Win10 PC, it’s up to date by the way. What do you think? Is it overheating? is it a s/w issue? is it a hardware issue?

Hi,

You may directly connect the unit to a wall socket rather than using a power strip, use a different power adaptor to isolate the issue. You can also run diagnostics with WD Drive utilities tool to determine its health status.

I will try using a different wall socket. I don’t have an additional power adapter to try that. I also have ran the WD diagnostics several times. It only tells me the disks and RAID is healthy. I think this is more like a housing issue, probably it heats when writing, which never happened before. It’s well ventilated and my house temperature is usually between 68-72 F, so nothing hot. Thanks for the advice.
