I have an expander connected to an SA8300HD DVR. Initial hookup was fine. When the power is off on the DVR for at least an hour and then powered up, the expander is not recognized unless I reset the connection. What is it about either the DVR sleep mode or expander’s sleep mode that is causing this issue?

I need to know if there’s a way to resolve this or if I need to return this drive and look for something else.

The DVR Expander is just a plain drive, it would do what the DVR ask him to do. I’ll suggest you to check your DVR configuration.

So, what exactly is the DVR asking him to do that he cannot successfully do? Connect?
