MyBook 4TB - Linux Server - Won't Sleep

Hi,

My 4TB MyBook drive is the primary backup storage for my computers. About a month ago I noticed that it no longer goes into sleep mode.

My question is can I make the desired changes so it sleeps when not in use (frequently) on my Windows 10 PC and then have them persist when I reconnect the drive to my Linux server?

Thanks for reading,

Best,
Tom

WD Utilities app can help to set the sleep time on the drive. That sleep timeout will set on the drive chip. So when drive not in use it will send command to put the hard drive to sleep. It doesn’t matter which OS you are using once the sleep timer is set.

Geat! Many thanks.
