I have a 64 bit Windows 8 laptop (about a year old) that doesn’t recognize my older My Passport (S/N: [Deleted]) (WD P/N: WD3200ME - 01 2809A). I’m not sure what driver I need to download or what I need to do since it is an older My Passport. Please help! I need to back up my laptop!
Unfortunately this Passport model is not supported under Windows 8. Have you verified if it’s recognized on the disk management window?

It is not recognized. Is there anything else I can do?
If you are trying to get data off of it you might try booting from a Linux Live CD. That might give you access to the drive to copy data off of it.
