My WD not showing the hard drive

Not that im aware of, although it could be staring me in the face and i would probably not see it.

How do i check for sure ?

I would remove the drive from its enclosure and connect it to a motherboard that has an IDE port. Until you do that you won’t be completely certain that the USB-IDE bridge board is not interfering with your diagnostics.
