My WD passport had been working fine but for 2 days, it hasn’t opened on my laptop. I have tried another laptop but it just shows a local disk icon instead of showing the drive. The light comes on and keeps blinking with the spinning sound so I know its connected to the laptop. It also shows as a connected device when I try to eject it (it doesn’t eject however and I have to turn of laptop to remove it). My life’s work is on this drive so please help!
Is your drive password protected?
No it’s not password protected.
Is it showing up in the disk management?
It does. It also shows in the Windows Explorer sometimes but takes forever to do so. It is a 4TB harddrive and I have about 2TB unused so far.
Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.
