Just bought a new My Passport Ultra, 4 T. I’m replacing an OLD My Book (8 years old) on my Dell desktop, which I’m going to reformat to delete the contents. My Book is, ALWAYS, connected and on when the PC is on. My question is do I keep the Ultra connected to the desktop in the same way on a continuous backup schedule? Or do I remove/eject it when I turn the desktop off? Have researched and can’t seem to find the answer. Also, is it OK and/or better to use WD Backup or Windows Backup with the Ultra? I heard that Windows Backup allows you to back up to different brands of external hard drives where WD Backup does not. Your responses are MUCH appreciated…thanks.
