My Passport Ultra not working - Power LED not turning on

My girlfriend’s My Passport Ultra is not working period. We’ve tried connecting it to multiple different devices and nothing. The led light doesn’t even turn on. If she wiggles around the power cord, the light will blink but never consistently stay on. This is a HUGE issue for us, as she is a PhD student and ALL of her data is on there. I think the product might be under warranty but I would hate to send it out and not know what will happen to it. I am almost positive it is because the usb port on the drive is not connecting completely with the board of the drive. Will Western Digital back up the data on the drive for us if we send it in? We ABSOLUTELY CANNOT afford to have this drive wiped with all of her data.
