What specifically makes the Metal Edition not compatible with XP? (the normal edition of My Passport Ultra is compatible)
I only want to buy the Metal Edition for the password protection with 256-bit hardware encryption. I do not want to use any other backup software features, etc.
With that being the case, can I use the Metal Edition with Windows XP?

On page # 3 of the Passport Ultra Metal Edition it mentions the compatible OS. It does not mention Windows XP

Personally, I have never tried this drive on Windows XP but lets see if any other user has tried it and can share their experience with us. You can also contact support directly to get this information from them.
