My Passport Ultra: Can You Password Protect without Using Automatic Backup Software?

Question concerning the My Passport Ultra external hard drive:

If I choose not to use the automatic backup software, can I still password protect the drive and use it in the same manner as a normal USB drive to copy&paste/drag&drop files using windows explorer?

You can use the drive as you wish, since the password protection is separate from the backup software so you should have not problem with this.
