My Passport Ultra 260d 5 TB drive being recognized but not initialized

Hello all, recently my external hard drive has been acting up really badly. Thank goodness I was able to get another external hard drive from another brand (sorry WD) and created another backup, but this MyPassport is very useful for travelling, which I do a lot.

Say, I connect it to my PC. I get this message, which is normal (I’ve worked with these messages since 2009 I think)

Then the Computer window shows like this:

The G: drive is the unlocker drive. I click on it, and I get the drive unlocked. But I get a non-initialized drive. The actual unit gets very hot, and the light blinks constantly.

Any idea of what could possibly be happening? I was using the same cables, and everything was normal until yesterday.
