My Passport Studio Won't mount

Hello and thank you for the help.

My passport studio has decided to no longer mount on my MacBook Pro or my iMac. I have followed a few ‘fixes’ that have not worked such as attempting to force mount (not sure I typed the command correctly, so thats an issue) Also, went into utilities and see the EHD but won’t repair. Tells me to backup as many files as possible and reformat but how do you backup something that won’t mount? Ugh!!! I’m not a computer expert so any help, explained in simple terms would be helpful.

Are you able to test the unit with a different USB Cable?

You can try using a data recovery software. Although, you unit is not showing properly, some software might be able to see the unit and recover the files.
