My problem is that the smartware drive unlock runs perfectly but after I entered my password and click on the unlock button. The smartware hangs or slows down. After sometime it will display that the passport is now unlock but is not detected by my laptop. Again after sometime the smartware program runs again to ask for it to be unlocked along with a message from windows that it needs to be format. I tried changing the cable and connecting it to a different computer but to no avail. I also tried using the WD quick format but it says “WD external drive format failed”.
