My Passport not spinning down when WD TV Live is turned off

I’ve just bought a new drive and wishing i had just gone with a Seagate like the drive i used previous.

Firstly when i switch my WD TV Live off the My Passport will not spindown and stays on to fix this issue i have to eject the drive using the control each time i’m finished.

Then the drive just goes into standby mode with the LED flashing every two seconds and as i have this drive in a bedroom it’s rather BRIGHT!

Is there any way to get this drive to spindown and turn off when the WD TV Live is powered off?

Found the solution, hold the power button down on the remote for 3 seconds to turn the box off which in turn removes all power the drive.
