Hi
I have a My Passport 500GB and suddenly one time when i connected it windows doesn’t detected that and installed it as “Initio Default Controller”. When i connect it, it spins for few seconds but after that i don’t hear it spinning. I tried diffrent laptops and PCs and even diffrent USB cables and a linux OS but it made no diffrence.
Based on this post http://community.wd.com/t5/External-Drives-for-PC/External-HD-to-Internal-HD-after-firmware-failure/m-p/160260#M5656 i tought maybe there is something wrong with firmware so i tried to update the firmware with WD firmware updater but it give me an error that it can’t recognize my device model.
Any idea on the whole situation or updating firmware?
