I have recently bought a My Passport 2TB Hard drive and tried to hook it up to my PS4. I have seen that the drives are compatible with PS4 and that they should all be compatible with USB 3.0/2.0. However, the cable is not detecting as USB 3.0. I plugged it in and the PS4 says that it is only runs 3.0 has to be bigger than 250GB. I tried using a different 3.0 cable and it works. Did I get a faulty cable or is WD just sketchy?
As it works after using different USB 3.0 cable then most probably there are chances that the issue is with the cable. As you recently bought the drive try contacting the customer support and get the replacement of the faulty cable.
