I have been recently been having issues with the My Passport external hard drive, at first it would work for a extended amount of time before disconnecting randomly without even removing it from the laptop. Now when I click on the my passport folder my laptop freezes, has anyone else had this issue and is there any way to save the files to save the files on the hard drive? Thanks in advance!

Please try to connect the drive different USB cable. Also, test the drive using WD Drive Utilities to check the health of the drive. Please refer to the link given below for more information.
