I’ve been using a My Passport for Mac since 2015 to backup my 2011 MacBook Pro (running High Sierra). But since a month ago, it will not complete a full backup. The total backup should be 219GB and the Passport device races up to 935.8MB but then it completely stalls. I’ve mounted and unmounted it, I’ve deleted and reset it, I’ve used First Aid on it and found no problem diagnosed. I can hear and feel the disc whirring inside the Passport device, but it’s not actually backing up any more data. Anyone suffering a similar issue? Anyone got a solution?
How are you backing up your data files in your My Passport for Mac, using Mac Time Machine or other backup tool?
I too am having this problem. New WDPassport bought to make room on my Mac which is now full! Spend all my time blocked as “in use” - hopeless device/situation.
