I don’t care for this software innerface at all. If I had the chance to preview it before making a purchase I would have made a different selection. Recently a coworker asked me about external back ups and I told him what I have and that he should persue a different manufacture. The is no manual selection or other options and it just looks cheap and not well thought out. I would love to get rid of this.
You can disable the VCD and uninstall the SmartWare software. After that, you can use the drive as just a drive. If you have XP, Vista, or 7, you can use the Windows backup utility.
