Hi, I have a 750gb my passport essential external hard disk which I bought 5 months ago. It worked fine until last week . The drive gets detected as a virtual cd drive but, I cannot open it. When i double click the cd drive it says no application found. I had a password to protect it but the smartware window to unlock it is not popping up. The properties of the cd drive shows that it has 0 bytes. I have tried to uninstall and rescan all disks several times, it dint do anything. I just need the data inside the drive. Can anyone help me.
The WD smartware version 1.6.2.5 shows the disk as no writable wd smartware partition found
