Hello,

I have a problem with my passport. Its not booting properly when I connected to any PC. When I placed my ear to the HDD I heard it simply spinning for a second then stopping. I think there is a proble with the actuator, eather the arm or head. I need to somehow fix it since it has some very important data.

I hope someone can help. If there is a gude to help me open it and fix it that would help too.

Hi there,

Have you tried connecting the drive with a different USB cable? Does your computer makes a recognition sound when the USB cable is inserted? Have you tried connecting the drive to a different computer?

Opening the drive’s enclosure voids the warranty. So, make sure you keep that in mind prior trying to fix the drive.
