My Passport Essential 640GB on Ubuntu

Hi there all,

Just wondering, I’ve jut bought myself a My Passport Essential 640GB External drive and I wanna sync my music collection between my laptop which is running Ubuntu and my desktop which is running Windows 7. Is this possible, and if so, what format should the drive be in? Also how do I customise the drive to allow copying music files onto the drive and then onto my Ubuntu system?

As long as the drive is formatted in NTFS, you shouldn’t have any issues.  Also, you could create a public share folder on the Windows 7 machine, then find the share and copy all the files over from your Linux laptop to the Windows computer.
