I have a passport elite 500gb but it said it was a controller, later that day I cleaned my windows laptop with ccleaner and since then every time I try to plug it in, it says the drive malfunctioned. I’ve tried to install,uninstall, and reinstall it and no prevail. I checked my disc manager and it doesn’t show up there, what now?
I suggest you to either write zeroes the drive or test it with DLG for defects. If the unit is defective, the DLG will give some error codes that will let you know if the unit needs to be replaced.
