My passport elite crashes computer

Hi

As oon as i connect my passport to my computer it is crashing on re boot am getting “blue screen error”

Am using windows xp  Norton security

any help appriciated  thanks in advance Colin

Go into Bios and make sure USB is not set as a boot device.
