My Passport Elite can see backed up files, won't allow retrieval

I had backed my files prior to my old computer crashing.  I now have my new computer up and working and can’t retrieve my old files.  It shows that they’re on the drive because I can see the total, but when I go to the retrieve tab nothing shows up.  Any assistance would be great.  Thank you very much.

Try enabling show fidden files. If that doesnt do it to a new backup see this thread http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-for-PC/data-restore/m-p/161586/highlight/true#M5703

Thanks for the tip. I don’t see anywhere to show hidden files.   I used the link and continued the backup but it still doesn’t show any old files to restore.  This whole WD thing is really poor.  I should have just used Carbonite or something.
