Which particular model of WD My Passport is the one you are tying to install in Windows 2000? Legacy Windows XP drivers could work for older units, but newer hard drives are not supported on legacy operaging systems and legacy drivers have not been developed.

That’s the latest generation model. It’s not going to work on Windows 2000. There are no legacy drivers available for it.

We have not supported Windows 2000 for a few years now. WD has never released a Windows 2000 driver for the Passports.

I have an “My passport” WDBAAA5000ABL - 00 (P/N) WXH0AA9K3250 (S/N) which is over 15 years old which appears to still work. What is the latest Windows that will support this?

Same question for WDBABV50000ABK-00 (P/N) WXJ1A21Y4644 (S/N)
