I use My Passport 5TB/4TB on Win 10. When I install WD Drive Utilities and WD Security, my My Passport keeps running (the led notification light flashes continuously) and can’t put the portable hard drive into mode. sleep level after 10,20 or 30 minutes of non-use even though I have it set up in WD Drive Utilities. I left it like that for 2-3 hours but it still can’t put to sleep and the notification light keeps blinking like I’m reading data on a portable hard drive. (I think this is the reason why it can’t go to sleep)
Strangely, when I removed both of the above software, the portable hard drive was back to normal. That is, it lights up when plugged in, the light only blinks when reading data (not blinking continuously without doing anything like before) and sleeps after 10 minutes of inactivity. When I reinstalled the above two software, I got the same error again.
So what is the cause here? How to fix it so that I can use the above two software normally!
