I was having an issue with the drive being Read Only. Community suggested I reformat.
In Disk Management I delete the volume and tried to reformat to NTFS. After I deleted the volume I received a message to initialize the disk. Seleted GPT and received an error stating disk is Read Only, volume has already been erased. Tried again using Disk Part but received the same error on uninitialized disk. Right now the disk is a brick. Any suggestions on how to get this disk reformatted and not Read Only?

Thanks for the help. I already tried both documents, neither worked. I tried a few more things and it final formatted. When I copy files onto the drive it still shows Read Only, this was my original problem. I’ve tried removing the Read Only check but it just comes back. I need to get rid of the Read Only but nothing seems to work.
